L’éclairage DEL : Évolution ou Révolution?

5000 ans av. J.-C., les mouches à feu étaient capturées, mises dans de petits bocaux et utilisées en tant que lampe.
 
3000 ans av. J.-C., des chandelles faites d’huile végétale et de cire d’abeille étaient utilisées en Chine.

En 1801, Sir Joseph Swan, au côté de Thomas Edison, inventa la première ampoule incandescente. Ensemble, ils formèrent la Edison & Swan United Electric Company qui fournit la première production de masse d’éclairage.

En 1927, Oleg Losev publia les premières recherches sur la technologie DEL.

C’est vers les années 2000 que la DEL fit son entrée sur le marché pour répondre aux besoins d’éclairage général. Ce produit est fait de Diodes et de circuits imprimés.

Beaucoup de gens parlent de l’éclairage DEL comme étant une révolution, toutefois, je ne suis pas complètement d’accord avec cette affirmation. Je dirais plutôt que la DEL est une évolution du même genre que le passage entre la chandelle et l’ampoule incandescente. On pourra parler de révolution lorsque l’éclairage sera la fonction secondaire du luminaire ou de l’ampoule. Et c’est ce que la technologie DEL nous aidera à accomplir.

Aujourd’hui, nous observons l’intégration de produits DEL aux haut-parleurs et aux amplificateurs de signal Wi-Fi. Demain, les lampes DEL pourront fournir ce que nous appelons le Li-Fi (qui est, grosso modo, du wi-fi à travers le système d’éclairage. (Wireless  fidelity, soit le wi-fi qui sera alors le Lighting Fidelity, le Li-Fi). Alors, la lumière sera utilisée pour capter et transmettre des données telles que la température, le niveau de qualité de l’air, l’occupation, la surveillance, etc.

L’éclairage DEL a le pouvoir d’être tellement plus que de la simple lumière! Il changera la façon dont les électriciens et les entrepreneurs installeront les câbles électriques dans les maisons et bâtiments et transformera certainement la manière dont nous programmons les codes électriques!

Dans un futur proche, nous vivrons dans un monde où un homme d’affaires en déplacement pourra entrer dans un hôtel ou un bureau et programmer l’atmosphère à l’aide de son téléphone et de l’éclairage. Imaginez, votre cellulaire intelligent communiquera avec le luminaire DEL pour programmer l’ambiance que vous avez préalablement choisie : un éclairage tamisé, une température idéale, une musique parfaite… exactement comme si vous étiez dans votre propre bureau. Alors, n’importe quelle pièce deviendra votre bureau !

Voilà la révolution!
